I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This week, we will be diving into Unit 4 Week 2 of our Wonders curriculum while also reviewing previous units. In GoMath, we are beginning subtraction within 5.
A lot of this week and next will be used for doing our winter FastBridge testing for students' reading and math scores. These scores will be used to help place students into new reading and math groups that we use throughout the winter, as well as see which concepts need more attention or extension for each student! In reading, we will be testing letter sounds, onset sounds, nonsense words and segmenting. In math, we will be testing number identification, number sequencing, and decomposing. I look forward to this so I can get a better idea of where your students are academically. I'm excited to see how much they have grown!
January is such a fun month filled with tons of winter activities! We will be spending time focusing on snow, snowmen, penguins, and the 100th day of school is coming up so soon on January 30th!!! We have a whole week of 100's day activities and centers planned at the end of the month! Keep a look out for details about our 100 day fun as we get closer to the end of January :)
Thank you to those who have brought in more snack! Their tummies will be happy for a few weeks! :) I will be sending home January homework/reading calendars tomorrow in Tuesday folders.
